A Dream

A Dream by Robert Neest The son of young and working man and wife A two-year-old boy lived in a small flat, Inside a basement of a building was What they could pay from their modest wage. The parents left the place that they were born And went away from their home and friends, Were forced by lack of chances to build up A decent life for their family. Arrived in a new country they were firm In their will to strive for a new life And get for their son what they had not, To grow with hope of better days ahead. O ne night , a storm was hitting their town And massive floods were reaching their street, A brutal burst inside the place they were And died the m o ther, father and the son.

The Old Musician

The O ld M usician by Robert Neest A couple of dark clouds are moving fast Among few lighter covering the sight Surrounded by the summer deep blue sky Above the busy morning hours street. Next to the road an old man sitting down, With weary suit that ha s seen better days, Is following the people with his eyes While playing merry songs on violin. Around, there are few children watching him, With dirty clothes and messy hair they stand And listen closely to the tunes he plays While their eyes are fixed upon the man. Some other persons hastily passing by, Well dressed and looking busy they go on, Are throwing looks when getting near him Or raising their brows they look aside .

A Night Out

A Night Out  by Robert Neest The stars were filling all the sight above,  Some smaller, in between the larger ones,  Creating vast and speckled tapestry  To cover the whole city over night.  The street was dark with people walking fast  To reach the other sector of the road  Where lights were brighter and few trees have grown  And people often used to sit and talk.  Behind the trees a clamour could be heard  As yellow stronger light was spreading out,  Few tables were aligned next to the street  And local diner customers were there.  The different noisy chatting groups were spread,  With several busy waiters moving fast  And nicely dressed women sitting near  While men were talking loud and drinking beer.
