To Know

To Know by Robert Neest To know is our goal since we are born T o watch and listen, learn what we observe In our lives and everywhere around The facts, the truth and all there is about. When growing up we feel so many times That honesty and courage one should bear When following the goals along the path That’s chosen to pursue throughout the life. The good intentions and the learning meet In fortunate conditions, now and then, And lead to happy situations when Who wants to help knows how to do it, too. H owever, many times we see around That foolish people use the things they know To hurt those they are meeting and themselves Ignoring what the knowledge can achieve.

Social Goals

Social Goals by Robert Neest Since they are born, the people live in groups, They’re doing things together, interact, And their families, the school or work, Make marks on their lives on every day. We see so many times they can adjust And change themselves so they could fit and live As part of something bigger and enjoy The social pleasures of the human bonds. There are some cases when the persons try To be themselves and live as they would think It would be most appropriate for them And build a world where they would have a place. The history we learn is showing that The world has always changed since ancient times Because of people that just didn’t want To go along accepting what there was.

The Guitar Player

T he G uitar P layer by Robert Neest While sitting on a long and wooden chair A lonely girl is playing the guitar And wh en the left hand slowly moves along The right hand gently touches the mild strings. The room is empty and the lights are dimmed, The walls are dark and distant around her And hidden from the sight of any one But still surrounding her from every side. The woman has a white and lovely dress With wide black belt surrounding her small waist, A blue thin ribbon holding her red hair While looks aside with white and sorry face. A noise is heard and makes her raise her eyes, The door is open and the light fills in, She’s standing while her eyes have tears of joy And stretches out her arms when seeing him.

The Plan

The Plan by Robert Neest A green and gorgeous land was filled with wealth And handsome men and women that enjoyed A plentiful supply for everything As all the stuff they wanted , they could get. The different goods that they disposed at will And varied services they could enjoy Were made and all provided by a horde Of overworked exhausted needy folks. As were displeased by seeing such poor things That stained the bright and splendid scene they built The leading persons made a plan that said They should restrain the trifling populace . And their efforts gave the planned results The little fellows getting few er, weak er , B ut having fewer labourers would lead To shortages of goods, disruptions, too.

O ne night , a storm was hitting their town And massive floods were reaching their street, A brutal burst inside the place they were And died the m o ther, father and the son.
